Home About Us Why Choose Blessed Sacrament?

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School: The Right Choice

At Blessed Sacrament, we know that selecting the right educational program for your child is a critically important decision. We offer a distinct, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate Early Childhood through 8th Grade program that is attuned to the various needs of each age group. We believe that such a wide-ranging academic and social environment provides definite advantages to students at all grade levels.  We hope the in-article links, video, and pull-down menu information on our website assist you in getting to know the story of our school.

Middle School ComputerThe curriculum at Blessed Sacrament is comprehensive and challenging.  Our core curriculum includes Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and Religion.  We also offer a broad specials curriculum that includes Computer Technology, Spanish, Music, Art, Physical Education, Speech, and Drama.

Students are exposed to the latest in educational technology from an early age.  With the funding assistance of the Morgridge Family Foundation and the PTSA, electronic Smart Boards can be found in each of the Science, Middle School Social Studies, and 2nd Grade classrooms.  A Smart Board is a digital projection screen that allows an entire classroom to experience and interact with electronic teaching media as if connected to a single computer.  This allows our teachers to take advantage of the Smart Board's flexible presentation capabilities and the graphics-rich media available to their respective subjects.
Standardized testing takes place annually beginning in 1st grade.  Blessed Sacrament, like all Archdiocese of Denver schools, administers the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, which has been used nationwide for over 70 years.  Our student body demonstrates proficiency an average of 2 grade levels above the norm.

Since its founding in 1922, Blessed Sacrament's graduates are traditionally accepted at Regis Jesuit High School, Mullen High School, Bishop Machebeuf High School, St. Mary's Academy, and East High School.  Our students are well-prepared for advanced level classes in all of these schools.  We are proud to be a feeder school to these well-respected, college preparatory schools.

There are, of course, dynamics that cannot be conveyed by test scores and statistics alone.  Our excellent teacher-student ratio, experienced and caring teachers, and dedicated parents all combine to ensure a successful environment for academic, social and personal growth.  The Buddy Program, which pairs students from older and younger grades on an ongoing basis, develops older students leadership potential and encourages them to be stewards of the younger generation.  A variety of service projects undertaken by all grades help the entire student body realize the importance of giving back.  Contact the school office at 303.377.8835 to schedule a tour and view this dynamic educational environment for yourself.
